AT GROW
We're raising funds to promote wellbeing and improve mental health by providing opportunities for hospital patients to socialise, exercise and rehabilitate in natural surroundings.
We design and build practical and tranquil gardens for patients, visitors and staff of Lincolnshire hospitals.
Please join us by supporting our efforts to make a measurable difference in the lives of others.

Here is our first garden created for Ward 6 at Grantham hospital.

Our official opening was to be held on 19th May when the garden was in full bloom. In light of COVID 19 this was cancelled, but thankfully the garden continues to be used by our #NHSHeros
OUR INSPIRATION
Gardens Restore Our Wellbeing was founded by Nikki Applewhite and Emmy Shelton following a plea from Lincolnshires NHS Trust to "Adopt a garden".
Employed by Applewhite Garden Design, Nikki and Emmy saw first hand the health benefits of volunteering when they worked at Belvoir Castle. Social interaction, laughter, purpose and a garden that looked beautiful for the public to enjoy.

The NHS has no budget for gardens; they barely have money to mow the lawns...
GROW will fund the gardens and manage a volunteer scheme to maintain their future.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
WHAT THE PHYSICIANS SAY...
"There is increasing evidence that exposure to plants and green space, and particularly to gardening, is beneficial to mental and physical health, and so could reduce the pressure on NHS services. Health professionals should therefore encourage their patients to make use of green space and to work in gardens, and should pressure local authorities to increase open spaces and the number of trees, thus also helping to counteract air pollution and climate change."
